Trouble in Paradise – Egypt Crisis Update

Due to the troubles in Egypt, some clients are unsure of their rights or whether they should travel, the information below is for any of those people affected by these problems.

What should I do if I have booked for Egypt (or affected areas)?

Most tour operators are currently cancelling all immediate bookings for areas from Cairo (all four governorates, including Giza), Alexandria, Luxor or Suez. Please check with the Foreign Office’s website for further information of affected areas.

I haven’t booked yet, but was thinking of visiting the pyramids in the summer, should I book?

At present the pyramid access has been closed off by the army, and the FCO (Foreign Office) have stated that unless your trip is essential all potential clients should hold off making any new bookings until further notice.

I’ve booked for Sharm El Sheikh for half term should I cancel my booking?

Tour operators in the area are reporting that the Red Sea resorts that include both Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada are currently safe from the troubles, with both areas hundreds of miles from Cairo.

I am currently in Egypt what should I do?

All clients currently visiting the affected areas should follow the link for information on how to exit the country safely or contact the British Embassy directly on 002 02 2791 6000 (Cairo) or 00 44 207 008 0000 (London)

I’ve booked airport parking with Skyparksecure, where do I stand?

Clients who contact us at least 72 hours prior to their arrival will receive a partial refund (minus £10.00) or a credit for the full parking price

… 24 hours with cancellation cover the client will receive a full refund of the parking fees.

Those clients, who parked but found their flights cancelled due to the above problems, please contact us via email ([email protected]) with your reference number and notification of cancellation by your tour operator and we will see what we are able to do for you.
