Golden Acre Park
Golden Acre Park opened in 1932 with a huge amusement park, boating lake, miniature railway and many rides and attractions. The attraction failed, closed and fell into disrepair. The park was taken over by Leeds City Council in 1945.
The Park is situated about six miles from the centre of Leeds at Bramhope on the A660 Otley Road. It consists of approximately 137 acres of mature woodland and gardens surrounding an attractive lake. A comprehensive variety of trees and shrubs, as well as herbaceous and aquatic plants has been added in recent years.
Access Access from the car park is via a steep path to underpass or across busy road. Wheelchair users may require assistance. There is limited 'disabled' parking alongside the Cafe. The circular walk is on flat, metalled and gravel paths. There is a manual wheelchair available from the shop. The Blenheim Courtyard, Display House and Demonstration Garden are easily accessible to disabled people.

Leeds Waterfront
The area around Clarence Dock on the Aire & Calder Navigation is a good spot from which to explore Leeds itself. On the waterside here, you'll find the huge national collection of arms and armour, the Royal Armouries Museum; also Tetley's Brewery, offering brewery tours.
Beyond the waterside, Leeds' striking Victorian centre is compact and very walkable. Other attractions include the Leeds Art Gallery with its special focus on the sculpture of Henry Moore, a thriving theatre culture, and plenty of opportunity for retail therapy, as well as many bars and restaurants. The area around the junction of the Aire & Calder Navigation and the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, also in the city centre, has been extensively regenerated and includes a craft centre at Granary Wharf.
Millenium Square
Surrounded by some of the city's most important buildings, including the Town Hall, Civic Hall, Leeds General Infirmary and the Civic Theatre, Millennium Square is the new heart for Leeds city centre. The site includes areas for staged performances such as outdoor theatre, pop concerts, operatic and orchestral performances, as well as civic ceremonies, fairs, markets and street entertainment.
Millennium Square was Leeds' flagship project to mark the year 2000, funded by Leeds City Council and the Millennium Commission. The £12m project successfully transformed the old Mandela Gardens and a non-descript car park into one of Europe's most innovative and impressive civic spaces as well as providing the city's first new public square in over 60 years.
