Arrival procedure for the Purple Parking Park and Ride for Gatwick Airport

On arrival at Purple Parking, keep to the left hand lane and drive through the automatic barrier. Park in one of the arrival bays and note the lane number. Go to Reception and present them with your booking confirmation or booking reference and car and flight details. Place your keys in the red key box with the corresponding lane number and then take the bus to your terminal. The bus leaves from the Reception area and calls at both terminals. We recommend that you allow 45 minutes from checking into the car park to reaching the airport terminal. Purple Parking operate transfers to and from the airport every 20 minutes which take 10 - 15 minutes.

Return procedure

Catch the transfer bus from where you were dropped off. You will need to show the ticket you were given at check-in to the driver.

If you are at the South Terminal, turn left out of the terminal and wait at bus stop 7 or 8, about 25 yards from the exit.

If you are at the North Terminal, turn right out of the terminal and follow signs for buses. Wait at bus stop 6 or 7.

After you have collected your keys from reception, drive to the exit and scan the barcode attached to your keys at the exit barrier to get out.

Overall

On arrival, park in one of our arrival bays and proceed to reception to check in. We park your car for you while you take one of our buses to the Airport.
On your return, catch the transfer bus from where you were dropped off back to the car park.

This car park has a vehicle height restriction of 2.1m (7ft.)

All buses are fully DDA compliant and are suitable for wheelchair use. Assistance with your luggage is available if required from the bus driver.

The operation is an absolute shower and I'll never use them again. Every part of our booking that had anything to do with Purple Parking was handled incompetently. How can you charge someone 16 days parking and explain why it was 16 days and then input that the car was staying for 23, so when we turned up to pick it up they had to dig it out of a multistorey car park. Then turn round to say if we lucky it's not buried right at the back as though it's our fault. This does not reflect on the customer service of Skypark Secure though, who i can't fault yet

I've used this service many times hence easy to locate. Usually it's fine but on this occasion it was appalling. Is booked in advance and paid over £80 at the time of booking. When I arrived at 3 am they told me there was no availability and could not find my booking although I presented the printed confirmation. No apology was forthcoming and no explanation why they had lost my booking. The guy I dealt with asked at one point if I was ok and I said that I was feeling really stressed (my husband was signalling frantically from the bus that was about to leave- a roadwork diversion en route meant we were already cutting it fine timewise). His colleague then butted in and very curtly interjected 'no one here is stressing you out' - unnecessary and unpleasant. Eventually and slowly a new booking was made and we just got to check in before it closed. A very stressful experience and I will consider alternative options next time.
