Easter Snow Report

    European resorts have benefited from some good snowfall over the past few weeks and many are offering excellent Spring skiing, with bursts of brilliant sunshine and plenty of stunning bluebird days.

     

    Austria

    In Austria, the next seven days are expected to bring 6cm of snow in Obertauern, 5cm in Obergurgl and 4cm in Zurs and St Anton.

    There are spring snow conditions throughout most resorts and the piste quality is reported as being good. Piste depths are still excellent, with Hintertux boasting a top depth of 400cm, Kauntertal 337cm and Solden 270cm.

    France

    Some sprinklings of snow are expected over the coming week with Chamonix, Les Arcs, Val Thorens and Flaine expecting 4cm, Val d’Isere, Tignes and Alpe d’Huez 3cm, and Meribel expecting a 2cm top up.

    There are still some excellent snowbases at most major resorts, with 210cm upper piste depths at both Val Thorens and Serre Chevalier.

    Snow quality is reported to be excellent at Courchevel and good in most other French resorts.

    Italy

    In Italy, most resorts are offering good snow conditions, with the higher altitude resort of Passo Tonale reported as having excellent snow quality.

    Cortina is expected to see 8cm of snow in the next 7 days, Livigno and Passo Tonale 6cm and Cervinia 4cm.

    Upper piste depths are recorded as being 600cm in Passo Tonale, 450cm in Madesimo, 300 cm in Cervinia and 240cm in Canazei.

    Switzerland

    Zermatt and Saas Fee are reporting excellent snow quality, whilst Andermatt, Arosa, Davos and other resorts are recorded as being in good condition.

    Over the next week, Switzerland is expected to receive 8cm of snow in St Moritz, 7cm in Saas Fee, 6cm in Davos and 5cm in Zermatt.

    Snow bases are still deep, with Engelberg at 340cm, Andermatt 400cm, Crans Montana 230cm and Saas Fee is 339cm on the upper pistes.
