Free Spirit Spheres – Vancouver Island British Columbia, Canada
Free Spirit Spheres is a gem of an eco-resort where guests sleep in round pods suspended by ropes in the trees.
The spheres are made of fiberglass and wood and borrow heavily from sailboat and yacht construction methods. Each 1100-pound, 10-foot-wide orb is equipped with a bed, dining table, storage space, built-in speakers, and big circular windows for gazing at the forest. Spiral staircases and drawbridges provide access to the spheres, which hang between 10 and 15 feet above the ground.
When staying at Free Spirit Spheres give you the option of 3 different spheres to choose from. All about Melody is the newest; it is the most secluded and the most accessible, reachable by a flat and steady foot bridge. The Eve sphere is the cosiest, it only has room for one average sized adult or two small ones. Our favourite sphere is the Eryn largely because it hangs highest above the ground (4.5 meters / 15 feet) and has a huge round window next to the bed.
Free Spirit Spheres provides a spiritual connection for guests to the forest, swaying in time with the trees to encourage creative thought, it’s one of the coolest stays around!
