On a quiet street in Copenhagen’s Vesterbro neighbourhood<\/a>, you’ll find Central Hotel & Cafe, one of the world’s smallest hotels<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And with only five seats in the coffee shop, the cafe isn’t exactly Wembley Stadium either!<\/p>\n

But the inarguable charm of the place is what makes Central Hotel popular with locals and visitors alike!<\/p>\n

Only one catch, there’s only one visitor at a time due to its size!<\/p>\n

Let’s delve into it a little!<\/p>\n

The Hotel<\/h2>\n

The small side building is more than 100 years old and was originally a shoemaker\u2019s workshop with a tiny apartment on top.<\/p>\n

In 2011, the owners of the Granola Caf\u00e9 \u2014 former set designer Leif Thingtved and indie entrepreneur Jacob Kampp \u2014 bought the place and opened a small caf\u00e9 on the ground floor.<\/p>\n

Leif then spent the next one and a half years designing, building and decorating the hotel with careful (some would say extreme) attention to detail.<\/p>\n

The Central Hotel & Caf\u00e9 is already a design landmark in Copenhagen and has featured both Danish and international press.<\/p>\n

The Room<\/h2>\n

This is a hotel with only one room, but what a room!<\/p>\n

Located on top of the small caf\u00e9, the double room of Central Hotel has a unique interior design with beautiful handcrafted details that will make even the pickiest boutique hotel aficionado feel right at home.<\/p>\n

The room includes a double bed with sheets from Geismar, bathroom with shower, a minibar stocked with nothing but the best, a flat screen television that can be hidden from view, a stereo where you can connect your iPhone, and free Wi-Fi.<\/p>\n

Your stay here includes delicious breakfast from the Granola Caf\u00e9 half a block away.<\/p>\n

The Caf\u00e9<\/h2>\n

This tiny caf\u00e9 is a neighbourhood favourite.<\/p>\n

Here the locals get their morning coffee to stay or to go and meet up with friends and neighbours.<\/p>\n

The place is cosy and lively at the same time!<\/p>\n

Enjoy a sandwich, delicious pastry, organic ice cream, old-fashioned milkshake, fresh juice or maybe a banana split!<\/p>\n

The coffee is a particular highlight, and is made from freshly roasted beans from Risteriet.<\/p>\n
