Arrival procedure for the Teesside On-Airport Parking
Teesside Int. Airport parking operates a credit card recognition system. Please ensure that you remember which debit or credit card you made the booking with and bring it with you to speed up your parking process.
On arrival at the airport, please drive up to the car park entry barrier. Do not press the ticket button. Insert your debit or credit card in the entry barrier which will recognise your details from your online booking and allow you to enter the car park.
Please bring a copy of this booking confirmation with you when arriving at the airport. If you do not have the card used to make the booking OR your card is not recognised, please do not insert a different card. Take a ticket to raise the barrier. Then please find a space to park and retain the ticket.
Return procedure
Upon your return to the airport after your flight, make your way straight to your car and drive to the exit barrier. Please insert the same credit or debit card in the barrier as you used when you arrived (the credit or debit card you booked with). This will allow you to exit the car park quickly and without hassle.
Otherwise, If you took a ticket upon entry, press the intercom button on the exit barrier and quote your booking reference. Although you no longer need your booking confirmation voucher, you are advised to bring it in case there is a system failure.

MME Airport offers high levels of security, with high-tech CCTV systems, electronically controlled entry and exit barriers, and 24/7 monitoring. Cars are always parked at their owners' own risk, subject to the terms and conditions of the car park.

I had a bad feeling about this parking when I pulled up to the entrance barrier and the entry process described on the information board completely contradicted the entry process that was described on my confirmation email. After a bit of experimentation, I managed to get into the car park, but left the car with a feeling a dread of what was in store when I tried to leave the car park on my return journey. Teesside is a small airport, so the parking was plentiful and my walk to the terminal building took about 20 seconds, which was fantastic. When I returned to the car, I drove to the exit barrier. Another point to note is that all of the painted direction on the ground have worn away so working out which barriers were exit and which were entry was not easy. I guessed and got it right, unfortunately the driver behind me guessed wrong and spent a good while trying to maneuver out of the entry barrier in the wrong direction. This time, the instructions on the information board and the instruction on my email agreed that I should enter the credit card that I used to make the booking, so this is what I did. Unfortunately the barrier machine didn't agree and rejected the card. I pressed the 'HELP' button which rang a dial tone for a number of minutes, eventually it was answered which was good news as a queue had started to form behind me. The guy on the phone asked for some details and then let me out, but really the process was far more complex than it needed to be. If they can sort this process out, to remove the unnecessary delays and improve the directions and signage, then my score would significantly improve
